The Emerging Leader Programme
Your best people were promoted because they're brilliant at the job. Leading it is a different skill entirely. The Emerging Leader Programme gives first-time and newly-promoted managers the practical leadership skills to make that step with confidence, built around your organisation and delivered by people who've done it at scale.

Three Phases
The ten modules sit across three stages of a new manager's growth

Phase One
Leading Yourself
Before anyone can lead a team, they have to lead themselves. We build the self-belief, presence and strategic perspective that turn a strong individual contributor into someone genuinely ready to lead.

Phase Two
Leading Others
Performance runs through relationships. We equip new managers to build trust, coach their people, handle conflict well, and communicate in a way that brings others along with them.

Phase Three
Leading Performance
Good intentions don't move numbers. We give leaders practical frameworks to set clear goals, hold people accountable, and steer their team through change and pressure without losing them.
Twelve Modules
Choose the modules that match where your managers actually are.
01
Self Belief
Stepping up from doing the work to leading it can shake even your strongest people. We build the genuine confidence to make decisions, own them, and lead without second-guessing every call.
02
Executive Presence
Presence isn't about being the loudest in the room. We help managers show up with calm, credible authority so people listen when they speak and trust the direction they set.
03
Strategic Thinking
Individual contributors are trained to execute. We help new leaders lift their heads to the bigger picture, see what matters most, and make decisions that move the whole team forward.
04
Building Trust
Leading former peers is one of the hardest parts of a first promotion. We help managers build the trust and psychological safety that turn a group of individuals into a team that follows them.
05
Coaching Skills
New managers often solve every problem themselves because it's faster. We help them coach rather than fix growing their people's capability instead of their own to-do list.
06
Conflict Resolution
Most managers avoid the hard conversation until it becomes a formal problem. We give leaders the tools to address tension early and directly, while it's still small.
07
Influence & Persuasion
New leaders rarely have the authority to just tell people what to do. We help them influence with clarity and credibility, bringing peers and senior stakeholders with them.
08
Storytelling
A good idea, poorly framed, gets ignored. We help managers communicate with a clear, compelling narrative so their message lands, sticks, and moves people to act.
09
Goal Setting
Setting goals is easy; holding people to them is where managers freeze. We help leaders set clear expectations and have honest performance conversations without burning people out.
10
Navigating Change
Managers are often asked to sell decisions they didn't make. We help them lead through change and uncertainty, keeping their team steady and focused when things shift.
11
Stress Tolerance
Every manager has a range where they think clearly and lead well, and a point where pressure tips them into reacting. We help leaders recognise their own edges, stay steady when the demands rise, and recover quickly when they don't.
12
Performance Mindset
How managers think about pressure and setbacks shapes how their team handles both. We help leaders treat challenge as something to grow through rather than something to survive, and pass that mindset on to the people they lead.
1:1 Coaching Sessions
Coaching is where it gets personal. Every manager gets private time with a coach to work through the challenges they're facing: the team member who isn't performing, the conversation they've been putting off, the step up that still feels a size too big. It's the space to say the thing they wouldn't say in a room full of their peers.

Sessions run alongside the modules, onsite, remote or blended. What's discussed stays between the manager and their coach; what you get is a clear read on how the cohort is progressing.

I highly recommend Mark and his team. He ran a series of interactive, energetic and actionable sessions for my HPE Business Process Improvement team.
The feedback from both my leadership and internal consulting team members has been fantastic. Thank you Mark for delivering such an impactful program and directly contributing to an improvement in our annual Voice of the Workforce results.

Getting Started Is Easy
1
Scope & Select
We work with you to define what "ready to lead" means in your organisation, and help identify the cohort who'll benefit most. Together we choose the modules that fit.
Month 1
2
Deliver & Develop
Your managers work through their chosen modules in live, discussion-led sessions as well as their 1:1 coaching sessions onsite, remote or blended, built around them.
Months 2-5
3
Embed & Extend
We review what's changed against the standard you set at the start, and share what we found with you and your leadership team. From there we keep the momentum going, lighter-touch coaching, refresher sessions, or the next cohort.
Month 6
Building a Leadership Pipeline
See the tangible difference in your organisation's leaders.
BEFORE
Avoids the difficult conversation until it becomes a formal problem
Does the work themselves because it's faster than explaining it
Manages former peers by hoping the friction sorts itself out
Confident in the task, unsure in the role
AFTER
Has the honest conversation early, before it escalates
Delegates and coaches, so the whole team grows
Sets a clear standard everyone respects, without the awkwardness
Leads with genuine confidence — and the team feels it
